What to Pack for a Girls' Day Trip

BEEP! BEEP! Let's hit the road!

Day trips are such a fun/easy way to get together with your best gal pals and venture to a new city close by. This past Sunday, my besties and I went to Michigan City, Indiana for one last hoo-ra before school starts. Beach, cute restaurants and memories to last us forever; what more could you ask for? :)

Take a look below at what I recommend to pack for your next girls' day trip! Find out what happened on our trip to make us double check our trunk next time we travel. ;)

β˜… Magazines

Read on the latest hot gossip together!

β˜… Tote & Satchel

Grab a tote to put all of your goodies in for the ride and ditch it for your satchel when you go shopping/out on the town.

β˜… Beach Towel & Swimsuit

Depending on where you're traveling to, these are a must, as any chance to touch some sand is in my radar.

β˜… Deck of Cards

Go Fish, anyone? Bring a deck of cards for a fun pass-time and trip down memory lane!

β˜… Picnic Food: bread, lunch meat, cheese, fruit, crackers, etc.

Delicious and cheap! Have everyone pitch in their favorite lunchtime food instead of splurging on eating out.

β˜… Licorice! (this is a must of mine for every long car ride)

Are you a pull-apart or regular kind of person? ME? Pull apart, of course! There's just something about a bag of licorice that screams "Road Trip"! A bag for me, please. :)

β˜… CD's with Your Favorite Playlist

Forget the mainstream radio! Make a playlist to jam out to. For instance, we belted the new Mama Mia soundtrack! πŸŽ΅ DANCING QUEEN, YOUNG AND SWEET, ONLY SEVENTEEN 🎡

β˜… Cozy Sweater

It never fails that I'm chilly on the car ride home, so throw in your fav cozy sweater to snuggle up with on the way back.

β˜… Jumper Cables & Tools

You never think it'll happen until it does; CAR TROUBLES. Along the way, we ran into a minor set-back in our trip. Let's just say that we didn't think being stranded on the side of the road for almost 2 hours was in the plan, but SOMEHOW we got the car going and made it back in one piece! Although it is still undetermined how/why the car issues were happening, it made us take a step back and realize that before you travel anywhere, it's better to be safe than sorry. We were so lucky to make it home safe and sound! Memories, right? LOL. Always. Be. Prepared. :)

There you have it! I hope your next day trip is loads of fun and filled with the best laughs! Now, you won't forget a thing the next time you're hittin' the road.

6 Reasons Why I Blog

I truly can't believe it's been a year since I've launched my blog! What a whirlwind of learning, growing, adapting and connecting. For so long, I had this vision of using a platform to write about what I love, using my voice, to an audience that craves inspiration. Through many trial and errors, here we are! I am so grateful, blessed and giddy to be able to write to all of you. Every single "Thanks for sharing!" or "I loved your post!" truly puts the biggest smile on my face and reiterates why I love doing what I do. I want to use this post as a huge THANK YOU to all of you who have read my posts, scrolled through my tabs or even hit the ❀ on my IG page. Cheers to you!

Now, here's why I do what I do...

I Love It!

Enough said, right? But seriously, I really, truly, whole-heartedly love what I do. I found my passion for writing in high school and I've stuck with it ever since. When I decided to mix that with my love affair with fashion, it was like I had struck gold! I use my blog as an outlet for me to not only reach and inspire people, but to create a safe space for myself to write about what I love.

Connecting with My Readers

Ahh! It excites me SO much when I get a new DM or comment from one of you. Either you're popping by to say hey, asking for style advice, whatever the case may be, keep them coming! Connecting with new and existing people is one of my top priorities when I post an Instagram photo or new blog post. If I can resonate with even just ONE person, I have done my job.

Meeting Inspiring Women

Since the new year, I've joined two women empowerment Facebook groups, formed by bloggers, and let me tell you, it has been RAD. The whole idea is to create a safe space for bloggers, aspiring bloggers, or followers of the boss ladies who created the page, to ask life questions, support one another and inspire one another. It gives me such a sigh of relief to know that there's a community of women, from all over the country, who are there to lift you up and cheer you on no matter what. If you want in, comment below and I can chat with you!

Giving You Inspiration

The word "inspire" is one of my most-used and favorite words. I think it stirs up creativity, passion and excitement. That's why I aim to inspire each and every one of you when you visit my page. What inspires me on my day-to-day has the opportunity to turn into something that you can re-purpose to make it your own; that's why I have so much fun giving outfit inspiration on my IG page :) You all are so unique that I hope my platform can fuel your creative engines to make something fresh!

Helps Me Grow/Develop

A year ago, I had hit "LIVE" on my website and held my breath. I was still understanding the in's and out's of blogging and had so much I wanted to learn. A year later, I am so thankful for all of the mistakes, bumps and errors that have come across because it has helped mold me into the blogger I am now. It's essential to find your voice and stick to it. In an overly-saturated community, your voice is what helps grow your business.

Authenticity. Organic. RAD.

These three words, I keep in my mind when it comes to anything that's going up under my name. If it doesn't fit, it doesn't belong. I've learned to stick to what represents you and to stray away from following in someone else's voice. You want to stay chic? Be YOU.

I love this term. It can mean something different for every woman. For me, it's not just about striving to be CEO, Founder or Creative Director. It's about being an EMPOWERED, FIERCE, SASSY LADY that will lead her there! Through every word and photo on this page, I want it to scream GIRL BOSS. β€οΈ
